Quest's Employment Services

Quest’s Employment Services help people with disabilities explore promising career options and find gainful employment in the community. With a comprehensive program including vocational evaluation, job development, job coaching, follow-along services and travel training, people can learn about vocational options, explore and identify realistic job opportunities and develop plans for success.

Understanding a job seeker's skills, abilities and interests is often the first step in helping them get ready to work. By using different methods and tools, a vocational evaluation helps identify the individual's strengths, aptitudes and functional needs relative to employment goals.

Whether an individual is changing jobs, seeking opportunities for advancement, uncertain of vocational direction or wanting to identify barriers to training or placement, vocational evaluation offers a variety of individualized services to meet each person's needs.

Once a goal has been established, employment specialists provide job development services such as conducting assessments, assisting with resumes and applications, developing job leads and assisting with the interview process. They also provide advocacy and education to the employer and employee as needed.

Quest is proud of the relationships we have with major Central Florida companies. Our staff has placed individuals at a wide range of businesses including: amusement parks, restaurants, convention centers, schools, supermarkets, hotels and retail stores... just to name a few.

After landing a suitable job, a Quest employment specialist is available for people who need one-on-one training at the workplace. During the initial phase of employment, the specialist provides the individual with support to ensure success. To help maintain employment, regular visits by a Quest follow-along specialist are available if any additional support is needed.

For people with disabilities, using public transportation opens the door to additional independent living skills, greater opportunities for employment and more access to community activities. Quest’s travel training program teaches individuals how to confidently and comfortably ride on LYNX fixed-route buses and take advantage of the independence and flexibility that come from using the bus system.

The program offers up to 12 hours of free one-on-one personalized training of the LYNX bus system by a Quest travel trainer. Individuals learn the available area bus routes, how to read a bus schedule and recognize bus numbers, how to get to and from the bus stop safely, important riding procedures, what to do if they miss the bus, get lost or board the wrong bus, how to plan a trip and important contact numbers.
