Quest, Inc. celebrates the many achievements and valuable input of women throughout our organization and beyond every day. March 8, 2019 is International Women’s Day! Today we highlight two dynamic women who have made significant contributions transforming lives and shaping the future for women around the world.

Temple Grandin is a woman living with Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD) who became one of the top scientists in the humane livestock handling industry. Temple often refers to her brain as Google®, saying she is a visual thinker and not a language-based thinker. She did not speak until age 4 and had trouble in school, but she exceeded expectations and earned her Ph.D. She is now a professor at Colorado State University where she is a well-known speaker on the subjects of ASD and animal husbandry. A biopic, starring Claire Danes, was done on her life in 2010. Temple is known in the ASD community for inventing the “Hug Box”, a device used for calming hypersensitive individuals living with ASD.  She is a true inspiration to children and adults around the world. Temple is evidence of the Quest philosophy that with a little help, with choices and opportunities, living a better life is possible.

Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II is the longest-reigning monarch in the history of the British throne, and is a beloved and respected figure across the globe. On February 6, 1952, upon the death of her father, Princess Elizabeth immediately acceded the throne, becoming Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen sees public and voluntary service as one of the most important elements of her work. The Queen has links - as Royal Patron or President with over 600 charities - taking special interest in those that tackle community and civic issues. She even stays on top of ever-changing technology and recently posted her first Instagram post! The Queen carries out all of her duties against the backdrop of a full personal life which has seen her raise four children and welcome grandchildren, and now great-grandchildren, to the Royal Family. The Queen celebrated her 60th year on the thrown, her Diamond Jubilee, in 2015. Her Majesty is currently 92 years young and continues to reign supreme – Now that’s girl power! The Queen has established a culture of tolerance, respect and inclusion among her family and her country. These values are at the heart of the work we do each day at Quest.  Quest, Inc. applauds all women who have made a difference to the individuals we serve as well as around the world.

Quest applauds these two tenacious women for their grace and perseverance as they continue to impact the lives of others.
