Quest Village: The Future of Affordable Housing for Adults with Developmental Disabilities in Central Florida
Quest Village / December 6th, 2017 1:41 pm
One of the most important milestones in any adult’s life is the ability to live independently. For individuals in Central Florida with developmental or intellectual disabilities (DD/ID), the dream of independent living can present additional and unique challenges due to the lack of access to affordable and available communities that both meet an individual’s needs and provides opportunities to live and thrive.

Solution: Opening in late 2017, Quest Village is an innovative residential community for independent adults with developmental disabilities. Quest Village will contain 48 single-bedroom/single-bathroom units complete with various amenities and a community center. In addition to thriving in a vibrant and innovative community, residents will enjoy the benefits of many other apartment community amenities.

Located on Woodbury Road, near Waterford Lakes Town Center and the University of Central Florida, this new community will provide adults with developmental disabilities the convenience of nearby access to employment, healthcare, transportation, entertainment and education in East Orlando.

Every apartment at Quest Village will meet the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards for accessibility. This is true of the community center, recreational facilities and sidewalks connecting and surrounding the community. There will also be units available designed to serve those with vision or hearing impairments. The community will be constructed to allow all adults with developmental disabilities to reside in an apartment without supervision.

Quest VillageThe opening of Quest Village, a Quest, Inc. community, reflects more than 50 years of expertise and experience of deliberate and innovative projects, program planning and execution that enables successful opportunities for individuals with disabilities to live, learn, work and play.  Quest has diligently worked to ensure that Quest Village is a community where residents meet their goals and thrive.  There will be 24-hour support available in the case of serious medical and maintenance emergencies. Individuals who require more support will have access to on-site and off-site services, at an additional cost, made available by Quest, Inc.

Quest Village will be a community built on the foundation of acceptance, tolerance and hope for future residents. This innovative residential community is designed to transform the lives of independent adults with developmental disabilities. Quest, Inc. is dedicated to the mission of building communities where individuals with disabilities achieve their goals.
Thanks to the support of generous donors including Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation, Robin’s Nest & Cherney Family Foundation and Stearns, Weaver, Miller; Quest Village will be a reality. Quest Village is also made possible through funds awarded in support of creating affordable housing opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities by the Florida Housing Finance Corporation.
